Rogers of Wallasey

Does anybody have access to the original parish registers for Wallasey, film, fiche or online?
I have a query re a marriage on the 4th of November 1740.
On the 31st of October 1740, a licence was recorded for the marriage of John Rogers of the parish of Wallasey and Sarah Rowlands of the parish of Bidston by Mr Urmston. They were to be married at either Wallasey or Bidston. John Rogers and Sarah his wife have children baptised and recorded in Wallasey parish registers from 1741.
No marriage for this couple is recorded at Bidston. We have a marriage according to transcripts (not B.T.) at Wallasey of Thos Rogers of Wallasey and Sarah Rowlin of Moreton (in parish of Bidston) by licence on the 4th of November 1740 issued by Mr Urmston Surr.
I think this is an error reading Thos for John either in transcription or by the minister recording the marriage but would love to see the original parish register entry or facsimile.

Have you looked on familysearch ?

They have the films for several Wallasey churches.

On the main page, go to 'Catalogue' and put in Wallasey.
Click on 'Church records'.
You will need to sign in - an account is free, you just need to register,and then you will be able to look at the films on-line.
I found 'The parish registers of Wallasey in the County of Chester 1574-1812' near the bottom of the Church Records list, and you can view it at home, (some films you have to go to an LDS library to view on their computers).
You'll need to browse the film to find marriages for 1740.
It's all a bit small on my phone sorry!

I think the entry is John Rogers as looks like Jho. None of the writer's Ts seem to drop below the line and Thomas is generally written Tho with superscript s or mas when abbreviated.
However would value more observations and opinions.

The capital 'J' at the start of your man's name certainly looks like the capital "J" in 'January' and 'James' in the second clip. and is dissimilar to the 'T' for Thomas in that clip.

I can see how a transcriber might have thought it was Thomas though.

If you can post a clip where the scribe has written an abbreviation of 'Thomas', as you say you have seen, then we could compare.

Indeed, this clip shows an abbreviation for 'Thomas' as 'Tho^s'.

The capital letter does look different to that of your 'John' in the first post.
This is presuming they were written by the same person of course. - they are dated pretty close together.
