Just seen this on BBC website

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53261752

Looks like a long list of countries that the 14 day quarantine rule won't apply to.

Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge

Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott

Not forgetting, of course, that rules don't apply to everyone?

Also in The Mail. He put photos on Instagram and was quite happy to tell the media!

The link that I put up was on another thread.

How on earth do they get away with it, people in the public eye must know that all eyes are on them.

From the article:-
"It is assumed that he will have to quarantine for 14 days on his return to Britain."

If he observes quarantine on his return (if it is still in place) then he hasn't broken any "rules".

I'm not sure why the media are getting their knickers knotted, thousands of people are travelling by air to overseas places every day. Why it this bloke's trip any different - other than who one of his children happens to be?

How on earth do they get away with it, people in the public eye must know that all eyes are on them.

So we can assume (at least in this case) the people involved have looked very carefully at the rules and are making very sure they comply with them.

What they can't do is to prevent journalists from twisting the facts to get clicks.

If that's directed to me Gadget, please read the Government guidance on travel to Greece:-
https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/greece/entry-requirements

Then let me know where it says:-
"The Greek authorities have said that Britons cannot currently travel to the country, citing high cases of coronavirus in the country, but said the decision will be reviewed on July 15."

Thanks.

Will they let me in when I arrive?

Not yet. From 15 June, Greece opened its border to visitors from Germany, Austria, Denmark, Norway, Cyprus, Israel, Switzerland, Japan, Malta, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Australia, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Albania, Estonia, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Hungary, South Korea, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Finland.

The UK, with the third highest death toll in the world, didn’t make the cut.

Nor did it make the second round – from 1 July, most European citizens will be allowed into Greece, apart from those from the UK and Sweden.

The UK is an important market for the Greek tourism industry; British visitors are the second largest market after Germany, and spend more than any other nationality.

However, the Greek prime minister has pushed back the date when Brits can enter the country to 15 July.
