James Todd Lowestoft 1805
« on: Tuesday 07 July 20 00:46 BST (UK) »
James is my 4th great-grandfather. I have found his baptism on 1st Nov 1805, which includes the names of his parents. He marries Eliza Thurgate on 27 Mar 1830 and they have two children, Eliza born 1830 and George born 1832. George dies a year later. Eliza his wife dies in 1844, on her death record she is listed as Elizabeth Todd, but I have found her burial and that is her death.

James however disappears. My 3rd great-grandmother Eliza his daughter is a servant on the 1851 and then she marries Jeremiah Kittle on 7 Nov 1852 in London. If anyone can look up James for me I would be really grateful. I can’t find a death or a remarriage for him anywhere in Lowestoft or the surrounding area.

Thanks

Hello Sally

James Todd, a married man, was buried at Runham, Norfolk, on 5 December 1852 aged 47 (FamilySearch.org: BT image 57 of 134).

Farmer James Todd of Runham, who died on 30 November 1852, made a will in June 1852 (probate NCC 1854: FS images 119 & 120 of 644) naming his wife Anne and daughter Eliza Todd.

Widower James Todd, the son of a seaman with the same name, was farming at Burgh [Fleggburgh], Norfolk, when he married Ann Nichols, the widowed daughter of labourer John Bishop, at Burgh St Margaret in 1846.
