James Brown Tullykittagh Townland
« on: Tuesday 07 July 20 22:08 BST (UK) »
James Brown(e) appears in the 1825 Tithe Applotments in Tullykittagh Townland, Dunaghy near present day Martinstown. William Paul is the previous name on the same list. A Moses Paul born c. 1808 in Elginny townland had a son named James Brown PAUL in 1838 and baptized at First Broughshane Presbyterian Church.  I believe that the William Paul in Tullykittagh was a brother of this Moses Paul and that their father, JOHN Paul, born c. 1777 was married to a BROWN. Not sure if a marriage record for 1797-1805 time frame exists (I don't think so) or what other sources are available to prove a PAUL-BROWN marriage? And I wonder if the James Brown listed in the 1825 Tithes is the father of the Miss Brown who possibly was married to John Paul.  ???
