Hi,
1852 Sheffield Alfred was Ephraim/Besty's son he died 1867 in Sheffield.

Alfred is not on the GRO registry, he was 45 when he got Bapt, on his marriage said father was John Sills, the 1861/1871 census  Lydia Sills said Alfred was her son, John Sills died in 1852, he died 1934 age 80

Did call himself George Wheatley /Alfred Sills 1870/1872 prison record.
Lydia Sills maiden name was Wheatley.

That's my ???

Mable.

Lydia Sills 58
Stephen (son) 38
Rosehannah (dtr) 21
Alfred (son) 18

When did Lydias older daughters marry, could Alfred be the son of one of them

Hi,
One daughter could have been his mother Alice Mary Sills 1834 she married 1855.

But still not found a birth are they sometimes missing from the GRO ?????

Yes they are sometimes missing that early on in registration.  They tightened up the system in the late 1870's.
