RED HOUSE
« on: Friday 17 July 20 15:20 BST (UK) »
My dad left the army after WW1 due to wounds and malaria....Sometime later he went back to Ireland on the death of his Dad,,,Stayed and joined the new Irish Free state forces...
I got his Army Record papers from Ireland on his service there.... But was very surprised that on enlistment his last address was RED HOUSE KESWICK, CUMBERLAND....i'm presuming he was working there.  Does anybody know it's location as i can't find it.

Many thanks.

It looks quite large Tony. There appear to be various outbuildings associated with it (stables and cottages). Looking at the side by side map for comparison, it seems a bit bigger now than it was on the old map - presumably extensions and buildings added.

Thank you all, it must be the RED HOUSE LODGE...as it's quite clear on the archive record....Red HOUSE KESWICK.....

It's funny because i often get up there...I like that area in particular...I must have passed it by as i usually rent a house/cottage.
I'll look out for it when this flippin Virus is done...
