Didmarton Thomas Pool

I have a marriage of a Thomas Pool to a Betty Prater 15/7/1816 at Didmarton although it says that his abode is Didmarton I am hoping that someone may be able to find if he was born there or not.
Thomas was buried at Didmarton 12/5/1824 age 41
I am actually looking for a marriage of a Thomas Pool he was christened 20/3/1782 at Minchinhampton to a Daniel Pool and Elizabeth Skinner and this is the closest I have come to hoping this is the Thomas that has moved to Didmorton.
Appreciate your time and effort and any advise .

As I am sure you are aware there are a number of possible baptisms for Thomas in the county but none in Didmartin.I wonder if you had considered this one slightly nearer to Didmartin?

Just to recap

Thomas POOL - was buried at Didmarton 12 May 1824 aged 41 years - his abode however, was Oldbury on the Hill.

On Wikipedia,  ....  On the 25 March 1883 Oldbury on the Hill, was incorporated into the civil parish of Didmarton, the two having shared a Rector since 1735.

Thomas POOL married in 1816 - which would make his age about 33 - most men would have been married in their twenties.

There are a number of POOL marriages in Oldbury on the Hill from

Ann POOL - 11 September 1786, Didmarton and Oldbury on the Hill

William POOL - 27October 1839

and Thomas' Widow, Betty POOL in 1824.


William POOL on later census, says he was born in Sherston, Wiltshire.

It could be, Thomas POOL was a Widower when his married - and possible children were married in Didmarton Oldbury on the Hill

Thos surname on the banns and marriage etc - he could only sign his name - and one of these has an E at the end.

To all who have gone to the trouble of finding this information for me I thank you so much but have been clutching at straws. It all started with my G. G. Grandfather  a most confusing person who had a child out of wedlock but married to that child,s mother 2 years later as i have the birth certificate to prove the fact
When that child married there were two certificates one saying his name was Daniel Pool his father being Thomas Pool but where Danial was to have signed his name besides Matilda Parker his wife Thomas was placed there instead the other certificate says that Thomas Pool married Matilda Parker both have the same registration numbers
I do not have a copy of the second Certificate.
Daniel Pool was apparently born at Brimscombe Gloucestershire about 1814-1817 Daniel's name   changes to John Pool after the 1851 census just to confuse things more, have been looking for this Daniel or Thomas or John for over 25 years.This is more than just the too hard basket
