Is it possible to enhance this article please
« on: Tuesday 21 July 20 06:32 BST (UK) »
This newpaper report of the funeral of Edith Smith has been sent to me, but I am having difficulty in reading all the names. Any help in enhancing the photograph would be most appreciated. Edith is part of a family we are having great difficulty in sorting out and I am hoping some of the names mentioned may be of help.
Cheers,
Pat

About the best I can do I'm afraid.
POB looks like Ilkeston if it helps.
According to the 1939 register she was born 22nd. Sept. 1910.
Edgar Smith married Edith Clarke 1932.
GRO Ref.
Dec. 1932 Belper/7b/1674
Her birth is probably this one as Basford was the Reg. District for Ilkeston:
Births Sep 1910
CLARKE Edith Basford/7b/267
MMN Jowett.
You should find them in 1911 but you need the above marriage cert. to confirm.

I can read a lot of it with difficulty but couldn't guarantee the accuracy.

It's late now but I'll have a go tomorrow.  I think others will be able to add bits

and together it might make sense. Do you know which Newspaper carried the

report?. They might have it on file   You know the place and the date. I assume

           it's a local newspaper.

Hiabo
Thank you for your help, I do know about the main people.  It is more the rest of the mourners I am interested in to try to make sense of what has been a difficult family to trace.
Cheers,
Pat

Hi,
Thank you for your help.  Unfortunately I have no idea which paper the article appeared in. It's been a very difficult disjointed family to research, hence the need to see who the mourners were.
Cheers,
Pat.
