I have seen lots of references to a Penmon website which is said to have lots of superb info. But it seems to have disappeared - anyone got an active link, please?

I think that it the penmon blog that you are referring to.

Here is a link to the archived copy of the website, it seems to have been working upto the end of 2019, some of the pages may still be useful to you.
