Holly Street, Gosport
« on: Thursday 30 July 20 08:00 BST (UK) »
Does anybody happen to have a photo of Holly Street as it used to be, before it was lined with yet more red brick?
My grandmother was born there in 1891 but I can't find any photos of the old housing. I've tried various historic Gosport sites and have a couple of books of photos of old Gosport, but no luck in any of them.
I'd be really grateful if anybody can help.

I don't have a photograph of Holly Street, but I do have photographs of Peel Road, which is two streets along, where my Great Grandmother and family lived. I have a photograph from the 1920s as well as a current one, which shows it to be little altered, as the street is a conservation area.

If you think that might be useful to you, am happy to post.  But actually, there are some reasonable ones here, and it gives a history of the subdivision of the area which may be interesting.

looking at this 1896 map, the outlines/footprints of the houses in both streets are similar
