i wonder if these could be brightened up.

Could you re-scan them if possible. These are the size of an avatar and could definitely be improved with a larger scan.  You are allowed to attach an image file of up to 500kb.  Scan at at least 300dpi and minimal compression, if you can.

Thank you Gadget am going to try and put the original picture on because I can cut them off myself save posting them all individually.

Will that help and is that large enough, because I can make it larger or smaller if you prefer. Alan

I've done a small version on my laptop but I'm not happy because the original isn't fully in focus. Also, when enlarged it shows compression/pixels.  I've mainly concentrated on the two that you're interested in.

Some of the restorers* have an App which can make improvements on focus.

I can see the improvement in Lydia already. The two small ones I first put on along with all the rest of them individually I tried to paste them into my book but they have printed out really dark, that is why I need them brightening up.

Thank you Gadget. I have cut and pasted the 13 individuals into my book from your picture and they look okay, unless anyone can do any better. I am pleased with that. Alan

It was just a quick attempt, Alan, as I've been busy and I'm not on my big machine.  I was hoping that someone would give you a better image.

I don't know if this will work for you, but they're brighter anyway
