Looking for info on 5 brothers, who's parents were listed as staying at Birkenhill Cottage and Shanquhar , both Gartly.

John Martin (Captured 1940 and POW at Dunkirk)

Alexander Martin (Gordon Highlanders)
James Martin (Sgt Royal Engineers)
William Martin(POW, Singapore)

Father may have been called Peter. Trying to get parents names

Thanks Colin

That's where I got Peter from, looking to see what his wife would have been called?

George Martin.

I have a report of what happened on the night of  the action, it would suggest his position was hit directly by rifle grenades. there was George and a private Hewitt. Hewitt seems to have survived, and L/C Cummings seems to have been killed on the same day

George is remembered at the Cassino Memorial, although he was killed in the Anzio area.

I know from the P&J in Sept 45, either James or Alexander lost a foot in the war, and of the  same two one of them was still in Italy.
