BRICKWALL!

Have hit a brick wall trying ancestors of 6th ggf James Barclay.  Can't find siblings, parents or anything further back.
He married Katherine Crew in 1717. They ad 4 children: Robert b.1718  William b.1719  John  1723  Isabel 1724

A James Barclay was baptised 15 Nov 1694 at Kettle, about 8 miles away from Auchtermuchty.
Father James.
Also a James Barclay baptised 27 May 1688 to James and Anna Lowson at Kettle.
Maybe the first James died. No record of a burial, but then these were often not recorded.

Also a David Barcly baptised 3 MArch 1691 of JAmes and Anna Lawson at Kennoway - another few miles further SE again. Looks like they moved around a fair bit.
Any idea of the occupation of your James? Does it say on his children's baptism entries?
