Susannah Hogan
« on: Sunday 16 August 20 09:18 BST (UK) »
A family I am helping is trying to find information about their great-grand mother Susannah Hogan.
All they know is that she married Joseph Ferdinand de Raedt on the 28 Sep 1875 in Uitenhage in the English Church. They have the marriage certificate.

Susannah was 22 years old when she married, have not been able to find a baptism or death notice for her. So they do not know who her parents are, where she came from or anything else about her.

Can anyone help, please
Thanks.

The church Susannah got married in was the Anglican church, St. Katherine in Uitenhage.
It is believed that she might have been born in Port Elizabeth or Uitenhage in 1853.

But there is also the possibility that she came out as an orphan or young woman to be a wife for a British soldier. Apparently this was done back then.
