can anyone help ,i have just recieved a marriage cert for my 3x great grand parents. michael mcghee born 1827 ireland and mary ann hill born 1829 yardley married 1848 north harborne staffordshire, michaels father patrick and mary ann father william both deceased,patrick labourer william polisher. have them on later census but cannot find them on the 1851 also cannot find mary on the 1841 any help would be great, michaels surname is spelt aa few different ways thanks

1861 north harborne kings norton ,1871 all saints birmingham 1881 same died 1881

Will you post full 1861 details please as nothing is coming up on family search or Ancestry

I can only find one birth on GRO Ann Catherine McGee 1856 mmn Hill

Indexed as Megee in 1861!!  Michael b 1823 not 1827.   Mary b 1826 Birmingham

Ann Catherine appears to be their eldest child aged 5 given the marriage was 1848

do you think they could have travelled abroad for a while as there is an 8 year gap between marriage and first born child.

Very much doubt it.  Even if they did - it wouldn't have stopped them having children
