"Journeyman" in Hungary 1848 Jewish census.

Found on-line reference to a couple with 4 children under 5 years in the household, plus a 15 year old female servant, and 3 males aged 20, 17 and 6 years who are transcribed as "journeymen".

Can I assume these "journeymen" are apprentices, and the youngest has been taken on as the oldest will be finishing his term within one year?

Also, may I assume business was fairly good, to afford this household?

A journeyman is usually someone who has completed an apprenticeship, but is not yet a Master in that trade.

No.
The 4 children belong to the couple.
The 2 older "journeymen" are related to each other, (i.e. share a surname different to their hosts,) and the youngest one has a different surname again, as does the servant girl.

BUT, would the transcription as "journeyman" actually mean "Apprentice" in reality, given the youngest of the 3 is only 6?  (There is no image supplied on Ancestry.)

Yes, that's what I thought.... for UK at least, but clearly a 6 year old can't have completed his apprentice term, nor is it likely that the 17 year old would have done.
