« on: Wednesday 26 August 20 10:13 BST (UK) »
Hi... I'm just looking for information on my grandfather again. A relitave reckons he was in mountjoy in 1915 for been awol. His name is William duffy born 1890. Is there away of looking up these records so I can double check its him. It dosent mention any prison time on his discharge papers from the army..so I'm thinkn its not maybe him..

Your man is in the Dublin Metropolitan Police Prisoners Books, available on findmypast
The prisoner books are also available on this site for free: https://digital.ucd.ie/view/ucdlib:43948
15 July 1915 spreads over two pages. He is the top line on the second page.
I don't think he was imprisoned, just escorted back.

Dont think so. He was inside there 3 times. once for assault and twice for awol. Once from the R D F
and  again from the navy.i found an address for the assault .it was Gas Terrace but no one could find it for me.This happened first in 1915 and later 1916  and  i think 1917. i forget  as i did search some years ago. i know i scrolled through pages of records before i found them all.I didnt know there were so many criminals with our surname. Prostitution was rife. Hope you have good luck in your search.
