CATTELL female born 1880

James CATTELL married Christina McINTOSH in 1878 in Wellington.

BDM website has two sons, James Albert in 1879 and Charles Percival in 1886.

Evening Post of 1 November 1880 has a birth notice for a daughter, born at Mulgrave St on 27 October.

Can't find a birth registration for this one, or a marriage or a death that fits. Nothing in Wellington Cemetery records online that I can find either.

Hoping some fresh eyes can help.

I don't know why, someone more knowledgeable can probably tell us, however Ancestry has this record:
Mabel Ann CATTELL born Oct/Nov/Dec 1881 registered at Wellington.

It doesn't appear on NZ BDM that I can see? And doesn't fit with the birth notice you found, but curious.

It appears Mabel Ann CATTELL married William Samuel BELLANY in 1912 (1912/2711)
There is this account of the wedding:

which states she was the only daughter of Mr and Mrs James CATTELL.

If you “drill down” you will find that her birthday was 27th October 1880, as per newspaper.  They were obviously a wee bit late registering.

Surname not transcribed correctly from the register. Hadn't thought of Cahill. Cattell has been spelt a few different ways. I believe the Ancestry records are from the old microfiche.
