I thought I'd try the welsh newspapers for a mention of Thomas, as there's often reporting of the doings of the Welsh diaspora in the USA, but no luck so far

Did find this report of William Edwards' death: https://newspapers.library.wales/view/3609372/3609379/65/Goferydd

Also this rather convoluted property dispute.  https://newspapers.library.wales/view/3571789/3571795/43/Goferydd

Details for the marriage of William Edwards b.1831 are:
2 Nov 1863 at St. Cybi's, Holyhead between William Edwards, 31, labourer of Goferydd, son of Richard Edwards, labourer & Ann Prichard, 24, Foel, dau. of Richard Prichard, labourer. Witnesses: Edward Prichard & William Hughes.

But, checking the birth registrations of the children of this marriage gives Ann's maiden name as Rogers!

This looks to be Ann Pritchard / Rogers family. Cannot explain name change at this stage.

1841 Holyhead census
Richard Pritchard 45 Ag Lab
Margaret Pritchard 40
William Pritchard 11
Thomas Pritchard 9
Ann Pritchard 3
Margaret Pritchard 4 mnths

In 1851 Holyhead census living at Foel
Richard Roger 59 Ag Lab born Holyhead
Margaret Roger 52 wife born Llanyngedle
Edward Roger 24 son born Holyhead
William Roger 21 son born Holyhead
Ann Roger 13 daughter born Holyhead
Margaret Roger 10 daughter born Holyhead

1861 Holyhead census living at Foel
Margaret Rogers 62 pauper born Llanyghenedle
Edward Rogers 34 son ag lab born Holyhead

Brother Edward is witness at Ann’s marriage in 1863 but signs as Edward Pritchard. Other witness at marriage is William Hughes (nephew?)
