Eduard Erich Becker
« on: Monday 07 September 20 08:58 BST (UK) »
Hi All

Bit out my Depth here - Germany

Eduard Erich Becker was born on 16th Jan 1920, his Mother was Agatha Becker his father was a Judge possibly in Cologne

Eduard was killed in 1941 due to a plane crash.

In 1954, Agatha Becker was about 70, so a birth year of approx 1882-1886.

Trying to find Eduard's father's name, after the war may have lived in Bonn after being bombed out of Cologne (they were listed as staying in Wurtemburg)  and when they found out about Eduard's death, bought plots at Bergheim Cemetery in Cologne

Mother may have been called "Agate Becker"

Family vault could have been in Bonn!

It would appear Eduards Father died between 1941 and 1954

I see a mention of Peterhead and Dundee.

Is this likely to be where the aircraft was lost, i.e. Somewhere between Peterhead and Dundee?

Also are these photos copyrighted, could I use them in my book?

That's right.

It says (2nd image): Engl. Ostküste zwischen Peterhead u. Dundee (English east coast between Peterhead and Dundee).

Just don't tell the Scots that that is England...  ;D

Best regards,
Karen

P.S. The first image states that his grave is in Sleepyhillock Frdhf. Montrose Scotland (Sleepyhillock Friedhof <cemetery>, Montrose Scotland) and then states the reference number.
