Date please - CdV young man by McAllan of Hexham

Yet another McAllan CdV!

Having consulted my newly acquired books I am wondering if this is 1880's? I have two others on this cardstock, one dated to late 1870's, the other to early 1880's.

Thanks for any help you can give  :)

No restoration required please.
I do have full biographical information about Thomas McAllan.

I think the 1880s, too, Jen; shorter hair and smaller coat collars than 1870s.
