Help with Berwick Inquest Reports from 1965
« on: Tuesday 15 September 20 09:42 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

I'm looking into a relative who died in Berwick in 1965. A newspaper report I've found says her death was caused by a condition accelerated by shock from a fall. The newspaper also says that an inquest was held on the 15th Dec 1965.

Does anyone know if the inquest reports are available anywhere (hopefully on line)?

Thanks a lot,

Michael

See https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/research-guides/coroners-inquests/

None available online.

Have you contacted the record office at Berwick on Tweed for advice?

Hi Michael
The information about which coroners records Woodhorn hold is within this list:
https://www.northumberlandarchives.com/services/leaflets/

Looking at that, records are closed for 75 years, unless you are a very close relative and in that case Woodhorn can apply for permission on your behalf.

Thanks a lot JenB and Tickettyboo,

I haven't contacted the records office but it doesn't sound like it's worth it, at least I know now.

Thanks again,

Michael
