It seems that Sarah lost 3 children in the same year and her husband died in the same year. Poor woman.

William John Moon was the youngest of 5:

Stephen Henry birth Sept.1877 Hastings - mmn Foord
Lewis James birth Mar.1879 - died Sept.1882
Alice Charlotte birth Dec.1880 - died Mar.1882
Horace William birth Sept.1882 - died Dec.1882
William John birth Dec.1883

Cannot see surviving brothers Stephen and William in 1891.

Their father was Henry Thomas Moon bc.1853 and he'd died before his wife Sarah Jane, in Dec.qtr.1883 Hastings.

What a sad family.

I wonder who took these poor little ones in and gave them a home

There are quite a few family trees online, some showing photos of the parents. Stephen,  it looks as if he spent time in Canada in WW1  and stayed there till his death

Sorry no internet again.
Yes he did go to Toronto Canada and wrote to his niece doris for years. I read the letters recently. and he comments on the fire that killed his mother in one of them . This sparked my interest.
Seeing as she lost 3 children in one year. Apart from her daughter Alice it would be interesting to know how the other two children died. I wonder if they all died from fire related incidents.
