Clarification - Testament Dative

Dead centre Elizabeth Brown...it does say "future spouse" correct?

And if it does how can the recently deceased have a future spouse or does this have another meaning in this context.

Is Elizabeth Brown going to be John Vallange/Vallance's future wife??  Perhaps that was what was meant rather than Elizabeth being the deceased's future wife?

It does say "future wife" as it is quoting from or paraphrasing another, older document, such as a marriage contract or a sasine following on from a marriage contract making provision for the future wife.
