« on: Sunday 20 September 20 12:08 BST (UK) »
My Great Parents John George Kinghorn and Wilhelmina Rowell married in 1904. John George`s Sister Hannah Scot Kinghorn married in 1905 to Wilhelmina Rowell`s brother Robert Rowell.

On the 1911 Census Robert, Hannah and children Winifred aged 4, Edward aged 3 and Thomas aged 4 month are living at Stobswood Colliery

In September 1912 Hannah aged 29 dies, The burial was on 14 Sept at St Johns chuch seaton hirst and then Thomas dies aged 23 Months and was buried 3rd December 1912 also at St Johns. The record on free reg gives burial address as 126 Katherine Street.

November 3rd 1913 Robert married Eliza Lumb and on their marriage certificate their address was 126 Katherine Street

Robert and Eliza go on to have 5 children themselves.

Edward Rowell born 1908 the son of Robert and first wife Hannah died in 1928 in a swimming accident in Newbiggin by the Sea, His address at time of burial was 164 Woodhorn Road.

In 1939 Robert Rowell aged 61 died and his address was also 164 Woodhorn Road at time of burial.

I cant seem to find a marriage, death for Winifred Rowell who was born 1906 possibly in Ulgham, Northumberland so remains a mystery

Yes sorry. The birth is all I have for Winifred tho her mothers maiden name is Kinghorn. She is on the 1911 census with parents Robert and Hannah but I cant find either a death or marriage for her

Assuming we are to focus on Winifred, I can see five potential marriages between 1931 and 1936.
Have you definitely eliminated all of these?

Hi Jen

I have only been able to find 2 marriages. One in Newcastle in 1925. spouses name Taylor and another marriage in Hexham in 1931 spouses name Charlton which I`m looking at but was hoping to find a marriage nearer to where she was born

I wouldn't necessarily restrict yourself to the immediate area.

My grandmother, born in a small mining village in County Durham in 1902, had her first child (out of wedlock) in York in 1923 and married in London in 1929.

The marriage in Newcastle in 1930 to William H Clarke looks promising. She was born in S Quarter, 1906. Have a look for a possible death.

One in Birmingham, seems to match her birth quarter.

Also, one in Rotherham, Yorkshire

The Newcastle couple can be found in 1939. Her year of birth doesn't match with the Winifred Rowell we are looking for, but does match that of a Winifred Rowell born in Newcastle in 1905.

Hexham marriage looked promising in 1931. Right age but there is also a Winifred Rowell born 1906 in Haydon Bridge to parents John Joseph and Lillian so not her  :-\
