O'Reilly Enniscorthy - What and where?
« on: Monday 21 September 20 17:50 BST (UK) »
I am looking into extended family and this is my first search in Wexford and i'm struggling with place names.
I would appreciate any help in clarifying place names and if possible, what is the annotation following the name of the father, John O'Reilly

Many thanks

Thanks Kay, Looks like a good call - I thought that there was a tail / descender letter towards the end - I have been looking at Parishes and the District of Oulart seems possible...
Thanks again

I did wonder whether in the space for his father's name John OReilly's name is listed in brackets with illegitimate as he had no father ?  But I have never seen this before  :-\

Looks like  to me illegitimate, seems to be a case of a son using his father's name even thought his parents were not married.

Indeed it is, Kay. It is just to the east of Blackwater and has both an upper and lower townland.
Here's Ballyconnigar Lower.
