Bailey Brith Merthyr Cynog, Who lived there after Ieaun ap Trahaiarne 1265 ?
« on: Tuesday 22 September 20 08:54 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I would like to know who was living in Bailey (Baili) Brith, a mansion in Merthyr Cynog, before it was passed to Henry Williams in the early 17th Century.

I found a reference to a David Jones, exciseman, descended from Richard ap Trahaiarne, probably of the same family as Ieuan ap Trahearne (Trahaiarne) 1265 in the British Museaum Archives.

And an inaccessible Google search for David Jones Exciseman in a Breconshire Local and Family History Society Newsletter.

Please see the snippets in the attached.

Any help would be appreciated!
