parents of Arthur Walter Pearce

I am trying to confirm the parents of Arthur Walter Pearce 1893 – 1975.
Everything I have seen (records and trees) point to Henry Pearce 1850 -1944 and Jane Kent 1848 – 1925. However, I have found a note added in March 2013 on Family Search - sealing to grandparents - which says “Arthur although Elizabeth's illegitimate son he did not know this until he was in his 50's and always considered his grandparents as his parents as they brought him up so that is why I have sealed him to them”.
The partner of Elizabeth 1875 – 1934 is shown as Walter Kelly 1875 – 1923 (no marriage shown).
So, as Elizabeth was only 18 and possibly unmarried, Arthur Walter could have been “adopted” by her parents?
Is there any way I could confirm this either way?

Seems to be a number of anc trees who have the same names as you have given.  Perhaps this would be one that DNA could solve  Have you had contact with those ancestry members ?

If Jane's maiden name was Kent, there doesn't seem to be a birth reg for him.

As osprey says, there is a possible birth registration for Arthur Walter Pearce in June qtr 1893 Winchester vol 2c pg 109 mmn Pearce, but nothing for mmn Kent.
Also looking at the Ancestry tree, there is a pattern to the births - Harry Pearce 1871, Louisa Pearce 1874, Elizabeth Pearce 1876, William Pearce 1877, Laura Pearce 1879, Charles Pearce 1881, Annie Pearce 1883 and Tom Pearce 1885 - all fairly close together and then 8 years before Arthur W Pearce is born in 1893.
