Trying to look for the children of Arnold Watt Blair (1886-1948) and Annie Henderson Hall (1887-1983) of Durham. I have 3 of the children, Arnold Blair Jr 1914-2007, married the widowed Gladys Rosenthal in 1951. Gladys died in 1997 aged 78. Annie Blair 1915-1987, and Nancy Blair. I'm not sure how to find out anymore children, I've had a look at some family trees on Ancestry but haven't found much.
Hi
It really does help if you give places you know they lived etc as well as dates.
and though ancestry trees 'can' be helpful to give clues, we have no idea how well trees have been researched so its really best to do your own research using the available records and then compare to other trees and, if possible, contact the tree owner to see if they are willing to discuss any discrepancy.
Marriages Q1 1914, South Shields Registration District for Arnold Blair and Annie Hall per Free BMD
NB check the image for this registration as his spouses surname has been transcribed as 'Halal' in error, the image does say Hall - correction submitted to FreeBMD but it takes a while to check submissions and update the database.
His entry in the probate calendar (and that of his wife and also his daughter Annie) all show that they lived at 20 Woodlands Road, Cleadon Village which, according to Genuki, was in Whitburn Parish.
The electoral registers 1920-1930 confirm that Arnold and Annie were at that address from at least 1928.
Whitburn is included in the South Shields Registration District
https://www.ukbmd.org.uk/reg/districts/south%20shields.htmlso you would need to check the GRO index on Free BMD for births 1914-1939 surname BLAIR , mother's maiden name HALL.
And that search only brings up 2 results, for Arnold 1914 and Annie 1915, in the South Shields District.
You didn't say where the info about 'Nancy' being a third child came from. As others have said Nancy was/is often used for Annie and, in the absence of any registration for a Nancy Blair, mmn Hall, anywhere in England & Wales its reasonable to conclude that Annie/Nancy are one and the same.
IF Arnold Watt Blair was a merchant seaman (which looks quite likely), there is a CR10 Identity Certificate for him in the Merchant Navy Records on FindMyPast which has a photo.
