United States, Veterans Administration Master Index, 1917-1940
« on: Thursday 01 October 20 12:46 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I have found a David Swinnterton (wrong spelling) on the Veterans Index.

He was born 11 Feb 1895 Cambridge, Mass
And died 15 Oct 1918.
Can anyone see anything more about his Military service, or cause of his death?

Thanks,
bswinno.

Thanks Sandra,

Lots for me to look at you have been busy. So David was in the USN died of influenza as I suspected because of the date. And later shipped home for burial.
In that case there should be a Military grave for him.

many thanks,
bswinno.

Haven't come across the cemetery yet.  :-\

He was listed on Cambridge World War I Memorial Plaques, 1918-1936.

https://cambridgeroomcollections.files.wordpress.com/2015/09/cambridge-world-war-i-plaques_012.pdf

His brother William J Swinnerton died in 1921 and the death notice for him omitted the cemetery.

The Boston Globe Boston, Massachusetts 7 Feb 1921, Mon  Page 10

https://www.newspapers.com/clip/60322876/obituary-for-william-j-swinnerton/

The death certificate for another brother George F Swinnerton died 9 July 1907 gives the cemetery as Camb. Cem. Cambridge.

Nothing for Swinnerton here
