Your post gives us nothing to work from in terms of dates.   All you have given us is a name.

Where & when was Joseph Stockton born?

Have you looked for him on any census?  Free search available on www.familysearch.org

If he is an ancestor you must have some info about him?  Wife, children etc

There was a James Stockton born Speke, 1804, on the 1861 census, but no Joseph showing.

There isn't even a date on the invoice so you really need to give us some relevant info other than "the Stockton family of Speke"

On another post that Chippy started about 'Poston' someone gave the information:

'William Stockton Poston b.1826 was my Great Grandad, brother to Joseph b.1831
On Ancestry I have copies of various census, marriage banns etc'

About 20 trees on Ancestry, with Stockton as William Stockton Poston's mmn.  A Joseph Stockton on a tree is born 1744 and another in 1782 in the correct area etc etc.

Stocktons owned a farm and land - STOCKTON WOOD SCHOOL ,Speke was the biggest school in the UK when it was built just after WW2

St Marys church Hale next to Speke is your best bet for records
