Nathaniel snell 1819
« on: Sunday 11 October 20 09:40 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone
I was hoping to get some help identifying the parents of Nathaniel snell, born 1819, St Austell, Cornwall.

Nathaniel married Eliza Richards and a john snell is listed as his dad.  On the 1841 census, his mother Jane is listed but I'm unsure on her surname.  John is not listed on the 1841 census.  Nathaniel has a sister Ann but her dad is listed as George Snell.  So rather confused.  A George snell did die 1839, St Austell.  Ann was born around 1822, St Austell.

Nathaniel married Eliza Richards on 17 October 1848 in his hometown. They had six children in 17 years. He died on 31 January 1892 in Truro, Cornwall, at the age of 73.

Any help to identify parents would be appreciated.

Also does anyone have any info on Fenowah Farm, which seems to be the residence of the family.

Thanks all

A George Snell, miner, married a Jane Buckingham at Stoke-Damerel on 21 Sep 1818 (image on FindMyPast).

Cornish OPC has George's occpn as "Miner" on the 1820 and 1822 baptisms

Thanks Rosie.  Unsure why John and George on records but gut seems to point to George, whose parents I think were also George and lucretia.  Do you have a copy of the paper advert.  The family including Jane, his mother, appear to be farmers.  I wonder if John, miner was error

I wonder if this might be Trenowah Farm:
https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/side-by-side/#zoom=19&lat=50.34932&lon=-4.75171&layers=168&right=BingHyb

In the 1861 census:
Nathaniel and family are at Trenowah Farm - he is a farmer of 30 Acres employing 1 man
