Charles B. Mills MBE
« on: Monday 12 October 20 12:23 BST (UK) »
Hi Folks,
Don't know where to put this question.

Have a Charles B. Mills MBE (1905 Liverpool-2002 Kingston-upon-Thames) and would like to know when he received this MBE award and what for.  That is the only info I need as I have other details.
I know from the London Gazette in 1958 he was upgraded from Lt. Commander to Commander so I am presuming it was for naval services.

Appreciate your expertise input.

Thanks

The London Gazette dated the 10 June 1967, Page 6286 lists the recipients of MBEs in the Queen's Birthday Honours list. Your man is listed as :

'Charles Beech MILLS, Esq., General Secretary,
Sand and Gravel Association of Great Britain.'

It looks as though he was awarded his 'gong' for services to industry
