German - 1752 marriage register 1758 baptism - help reading names please
« on: Wednesday 21 October 20 16:13 BST (UK) »
Hello,

would be very grateful if anyone can help with reading/transcribing these 2 entries, I think I have found the baptism (I've been looking for Johann Carl Passow) in 1758 and also the marriage of his parents in 1752.
However I am having difficulty reading all the names.

The baptism is 1758 Feb 10  Johann Carl Hans Jürgen, family name Passow

The marriage is 1752 April 13 groom is Johann Peter Passow and I think the bride is a Wöstenberg.

Place for both entries is Banzkow.

With these older registers, I'm finding that the searches aren't helping much, so I'm looking through the books once I have an approximate year and then looking out for the place and surname, often easier said than done  :).

many thanks,
Lisa

PS hope the attachments are ok, the ones I added at first were too large.

Thanks so much Dave.

I think that Johann Carl Hans Jürgen Passow is later 'Johann Carl Passow' or just 'Carl Passow' in the records and that he marries a Sophie Wöstenberg.

I've been going round in a circle with these Passows and Wöstenbergs.  There are a lot of Sophies, a number of whom are married to Passows with Carl somewhere in the names.

I think I'm slowly sorting it out, so the help is very much appreciated.

Anyway 'my' Carl Passow and Sophie Wöstenberg have a daughter, Magdalena, who has a birthday today - 222!  The fact that she has a birthday today has encouraged to do a bit more looking through the registers around that family.

Thanks again,
Lisa
