I have been a bit good this afternoon (FH again) and taken out all over gone plants ,perennials dying back, cut back the thyme ,giving it away left right and centre .

Aquilegia ,The geraniums ,single perennial ones .
Chopped cotoneaster where it was taking over ,Hebe .
Looks better but need a drier day to soft rake the artificial grass .

Number two son phoned today, were back at the house they have left yesterday so no call then. Buyers had some queries so they went to sort them out.
I have written down the recipe Roobarb ,tasted the whisky — it is a smokey peaty one ,so as an experiment I wonder what the cake would be like using Cointreau to soak the raisins,it makes a gorgeous mincemeat.
Could buy more whisky ——-one I know like Bells ,OH liked that just now and again.I put an e in the word but that is Irish !
Well think I will have a bath ,perhaps fewer aches and pains if I soak a bit.
So an evening in nightie and dressing gown.
Cheerio , another day gone like a wink ,we must not wish time away ,just think when you are old and I am gone you will talk about all this as I do “The War!“

Posh sister phoned yesterday ,( I have only got one)sad about Christmas etc.
Said people were complaining about restrictions already etcetc .
She said more or less what I have said ( switch off now if you are fed up with TheWar)- They want to try sitting in a shelter ,with bombs dropping all round
them, worried about the chip shop ,and when the all clear sounded find that
the house was very shaken, Christmas tree on the floor presents ruined ,the same the next night and then being rushed off to Shropshire for four and a half years.23rd and 24 th December 1940
Actually , think how lucky we were ,house only shaken , some very close by were bombed.Very lucky .
And as you know Shropshire was one of the best things to happen to me.
But you can’t really think like that, she does not really wish anything like that on people ,well not in WILMSLOW!
Right bath.
Cheerio .
Viktoria.

Hello everyone, isn’t life strange, there was I moaning about not getting extra
nice cards for close family and hey presto ! With the post this morning an
envelope ,fat, from the artists who hold the brushes in their mouths  or by their feet.
Not opened it yet ,it is in isolation for a while but there will be cards in for me to buy. Whilst they might not be my taste ,what the heck ,they have a certain
“ specialness “ and so I will buy those .Problem solved.
What a rainy day-again !
I am a bit itchy today, used some Johnson’s Baby bubble bath ,
yesterday  -,have to watch heavily perfumed sorts ,but I am itchy .
Got it specially too, not F.H ‘s leftovers.
Oh well another bath tonight and just Dove soap ,perhaps .
Must check ,did not get to do it yesterday, dates on dried fruit etc .
Can you imagine throwing stuff like that away years gone by!
Well done everyone, gardening ,cooking ,sewing , keeping on keeping on.
Just in case this ever ends,I must get back into the daily whizz round ,,tidy, dust ,vac, washbasin and loo, kitchen done every night Istill always do now.
.New book catalogue come in the post ,have a look through that in a day or so.
Grand daughter ‘s birthday on 30th.
Oh what a strong willed baby! From the very first a really stubborn little soul.
A bit like her Mum,my daughter .
But sooooo straightforward, not  afraid of the truth ,wonderful traits for an accountant ,her grandad ,whose character she has inherited through her Mum
was just the same.
Isn’t it wonderful how things come through like that.
FH ‘s daddy was a gentle amenable little boy ,but has learnt to be assertive
and can state his case as needs be with confidence and  reason.

Prescriptions just delivered ,Lloyds are marvellous, I phoned yesterday and unless they have some gadget on their phone—- they recognised my voice!

Well must get  on ,after another cuppa !
Dustbins tomorrow ,so usually bathroom ,kitchen , lounge  bins taken outside
wash them out and leave in the sunshine — fat chance today.

Cheerio.Viktoria.
