When we contacted Uplands, the staff were very helpful and even directed us to the plot as there was no headstone.
I expect matters will be quite different at the moment but I would hope they will tell you plot number etc.

We went to the office at the new part of the Cemetery across the road, maybe there is another phone number there?
I know at Birmingham Cemeteries where there are funerals taking place, the general public aren't usually allowed until staff have gone so perhaps that's why.
I believe there are burial records at Smethwick Archive for Uplands but their opening times are short even without Covid restrictions. Sorry I haven't got phone numbers.
