As I’ve not seen a death entry have not given full names

Bedfordshire Electoral Register

R. C. P & M Gurney
Residence Year:   1977 / 1985
Address:   West Street 20
Residence Place:   Bedfordshire

He married in 1942

R C P Gurney
Dec 1942 Leighton Buzzard Bedfordshire
Spouse:   M Staniford
Volume 3b Page 891

Bedfordshire Times and Independent
09 Oct 1942
Woburn
Wedding: Gurney-Staniford
- Saturday, at All Saints' Church, Leighton Buzzard
- bride:
- Miss Mary Staniford
- only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Staniford, of 20 Sheep Lane, Woburn
- groom:
- Mr Ronald Charles Peter Gurney
- only son Mrs. E. Gurney, of 20 West Street, Leighton Buzzard
- volunteer member of the National Fire Service,
- colleagues formed guard of honour
- bride given away by brother W Staniford
- George Linney, of Leighton, was best man

I assume Mary was the daughter of George Staniford and Alice Sibley, and the brother was Walter John. In which case there's a likely looking death for Mary, which tallies with the death of Ronald, posted by Jamjar.

Interesting that it doesn't say he is son of James Albert Gurney although evidence suggests he is still alive at the time ??
