No he didn't did he

No help here but
Henry Webb and Emily R are on 1871/1881 and 1891 living in Wenhaston?, she was a school mistress

Henry died 1894, can't find a will for him but I imagine this aunt and uncle might well have been in touch with Rosanna

"I missed the third sets of banns as ancestry has him transcribed as BERD. I think she is Lavinia? Chester didn't hang about did he"

It is transcribed Berd but clearly written as Bird and you are correct Lavinia clearly written.

I wonder if he died happy after 27 short years?

Wonder why the marriage didn't go ahead? Lavinia married somebody else in 1872 but by that time Chester was dead already. I don't know whether Chester would have been happy, but he wouldn't have been bored.

No it was left to the grandmother and her aunt and uncle to look after Rosanna. Then they got her a place in the orphanage. Poor Rosanna didn't have a brilliant start in life which is why I hope she was alive to claim her inheritance.

So do I , poor girl

A relative of mine missed out on her husbands will, he was an absent father,  the family moved and the solicitor couldn't find them,  over £2500 went to the treasury and  the family were almost penniless , a huge shame

Any tips on how to find her in the censuses? As I say, I can't find a death, so assume she lived for a while anyway. But try as I might she's not there. I've looked at all the possible options for a marriage and then finally I've tried searching for all marriages for a Ros Bird - and that brings up anybody called Rose, Rosa, Rosanna, Rosetta etc then getting all the surnames from that for the male names, and then looking on ancestry at the censuses for anybody called Ros* born 1865 +/- 2 born in Marylebone, and then matching up the surnames with the marriages I found, but no luck with that.

Walter Shinn, the possible heir to Emily’s legacy, dies in 1929 leaving a tidy sum of money too.

That notice is a bit odd. It mentions another possible heir as Rosanna Brooks, formerly Bird, sister of the late Emily.
I can’t see this Rosanna except she is mentioned in a family tree as 1832 - 1850 which wouldn’t make sense.

"They" don't seem to be able to find her in 1900 in regards to the will of Emily.

No idea on my part. Just the usual-Aus. USA Canada?

EDIT: heywood- that has me more confused than ever.
