Lee County, Florida Official Records Search
« on: Tuesday 03 November 20 16:19 GMT (UK) »
https://www.leeclerk.org/services/public-records-request

When I go to the above link, and click on 'Search Official Records'
choose to search by name
Put in the name as GUITCHEV
Begin date 01/01/1999 end date 11/03/2020
and leave all other fields as they are
I get 8 results

I can then view 'some' of them  but am interested in the ones that tell me I need to register as a user to view them:
Guitchen Ivan/ Guitchev Jeanne Estate  09/26/2002 AFFIDAVIT
Guitchen Ivan pers rep/ Guitchev Jeanne Estate 09/26/2002 PROBATE
Guitchen Ivan Iliev 02/23/2009 Death Certificate

I am happy to register, but as I live in the UK the site just can't cope, as the address, zip/post code and tel no aren't acceptable - its obviously, and not unreasonably, expecting a US state, zip code and tel no format.

Long shot but if  anyone here is a registered user for this site, I would very much appreciate it if you can look - if there is a charge (I didn't get that far) then just leave it.

This Jeanne is almost 99% sure to be Jeanne Buchanan Bates who married Ivan Guitchev in Los Angeles on 10th Aug 1956 but I'd like to see if the above records could give me any new (to me) info.

Thanks

Boo

Did she have a sister named Enid? Enid was born in New Castle, England. There is a sister, Jeanne Guitchev, mentioned in her obit living in Cape Coral, Fla. Cape Coral, Florida is in Lee County.

Yes, thank you, I have the obits and know about her (half) sisters.

I also have a death notice for Jeanne, but sadly it doesn't mention any relatives at all just that she died, aged 80, in Cape Coral.

If all else fails I'll try mailing the Lee County Court office and see if they can help.
Not being able to register feels a bit like those game shows when they show you something and tell you 'this is what you could have won' :-)

The registration field is for attorneys only the way I read it to access ongoing court cases.
There is a contact us icon top right, save on postage.

The affidavit, in part, says exactly that. It is an affidavit of continuous marriage between Ivan and Jeanne, who married 20 Aug 1956 in Los Angeles.
And that she died 11 Aug 2002. During that time there was no intervening divorce.

A copy of her death certif. is attached but is tough to read, will give it a go.

Thank you oldohiohome!
That is super info  and 'very' much appreciated.

Thanks for offering to attempt to read the death cert, if it mentions her parents, her Dad was called Smith Bates (or Buchanan-Bates) and her Mam was Anne or Annie (nee Buchanan). Sometimes it helps to decipher documents if you know what to expect.

 - is there an option to download the documents?
If there is, then I will contact the County Clerk and see if  they will send me them.

Thank amondg, but the message only appeared after I clicked on the record link, I got the impression that anyone can register (as long as they live in the US, so can give the address format expected).
and I did mean email, rather than snail mail :-)
