Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for relatives of Hylda Fanny Margaret Maclean - Womans Legion - Driver - who died 7/4/1918 - buried Edinburgh (Warriston) Cemetery.
The private memorial marking the grave of Driver Maclean no longer provides adequate commemoration. The commission is in the process of producing a headstone to mark her grave.
Lady Despatch Rider, she died as the result of an accident.
The Glasgow Herald, Thursday, April 11th., 1918. Death notice:-
"MACLEAN.- At Edinburgh, on the 7th inst., the result of an accident, Hylda, wife of Sec. Lieutenant Norman H. Maclean, R.E.- Funeral to Warriston Cemetery to-day at 1.30; this is the only intimation and invitation."
Birth is registered Q4 1878 - Foleshill 6d 507 - Hilda Fanny M. Green.
Marriage is registered Q3 1900 - Coventry 6d 881 - Hylda Fanny M. Green/Norman Henry Maclean.
