Marriage of Francis Hiat & Joan Dudge
« on: Sunday 08 November 20 15:59 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to confirm additional details regarding the marriage of Francis Hiat (Hyatt) & Joan Dudge (Dodge?) which happened in 1763. According to transcripts on Ancestry, FindMyPast and FreeREG this marriage occured at West Buckland, Somerset on 8 May, after a bann on 3 April at the same place.

According to the transcript on Ancestry, this came from FHL film 599466. There is also an additonal transcript from this film recorded on Ancestry that says the marriage occured at Allington, Dorset. It is not clear if this entry is another bann, marriage, or a typo. Whilst Ancestry has images of the West Buckland registers, the marriage images stop at 1748 so I cannot confirm if either individual was residing at Allington leading upto the marriage.

Can anyone help to confirm if the Allington reference is correct/actually exists?

Most of the Marriage references say, Somerset and has the spelling as Frances
One does show Allington on Ancestry, but has no document to confirm

You probably have reference to their children, but if not...

Also these baptism transcripts are held in the Milverton, Somerset Records, but reference West Buckland as the parish.
