Uniform Identification Please.
« on: Wednesday 11 November 20 17:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi

This is a photo of my grandad who was meant to have served around the start of WW2. I can't find a military record for him. He was born in Petersfield, Surrey & lived in Portsmouth, Hampshire. The bigger photo is dated 17th Feb 1941.

Many thanks

Suzanne.

There is nothing in either photo to indicate which Regiment or Corps.

His records will still be with the MOD, there is a £30 cost to apply for them.

Good grief! That's a lot. I will bear it in mind. There's nothing on him at all is there?!

Hi, no, there will be nothing online as all service records after WWI are with the M.O.D, as Jebber kindly pointed out.

Good evening,

Just as a point of interest Petersfield is in Hampshire. About 15 miles up the A3 from Portsmouth.
