Thanks Sandra, I 'did' read the notes in col 4, but it may as well be in Japanese as it obviously refers to some sort of grid ref that relates to how Canada was 'mapped' and, as I said map refs not my forte (my brain freezes over).
The other stuff you have kindly provided is all correct, it was really nice of you to look for it and its appreciated.
My problem is with [William] Robert Bates he appears to have left his wife and children sometime after the 1916 census in Swift Current. I have all his details up to then from his birth in Wallsend, Northumberland, England in 1882, marriage to Margaret /Margarette Henry in Gateshead 1903, emigration to Canada in 1907 etc. Though I do not know when or where he died.
The 1911 census I posted looks 'likely' to be them but the birth years are a few years out. I know that 2 of Margaret/Margarette's brothers spent a year in Canada and have them in Regina in 1911. If these co-ordinates/ map refs show that they were fairly near to the Bates' family that would lend a little more weight to the 1911 census being the one I was looking for.
Finding [William] Robert's Bates death would enable me to have a 'full house' of life span records for the family and would greatly please his grand daughter who knows nothing about her Grandfather other than he disappeared never to be seen or heard of again.
I am not holding my breath :-)
