Hello,
I am looking for information on an Ann (possibly Anne) Reid (on some documents she appears as Hannah)
From her son's birth certificate in July 1850 she is listed as Hannah. But on his baptism in August she is listed as Ann. I believe the name was misheard (possibly due to her accent)
Although she is listed as Hannah on their 1851 Census in Penrith workhouse also, she is never named as Hannah passed this point. Her death registration shows her as Ann as well.
Also Worth noting is the 1851 Penrith Workhouse Census, the family is listed as follows;
William Gilbanks Age:12 place of birth: Unk
James Gilbanks Age:35 Ag Lab Place of birth: Cumberland Threlkeld
Hannah Gilbanks Age:29 Ag Lab Place of birth: Scotland Roxburgh
Benjamin Gilbanks Age:9 Mnths Place of birth: Cumberland Penrith
But I have not been able to locate a birth for a William Gilbanks (I am awaiting a death cert from GRO which may give me an in site as to whether he is a son of James & Ann). But if he is that would mean if they married before his birth it would have been before 1839
She married James Gilbanks, I am unsure of when or where and have not located anything suggesting a Marriage. I have no birth for James either.
I do not have a set date of birth as it varied from Census to Census,
However below is the dates of births for Ann on the Census' I have.
1851: 29 (1822)
1861: 38 (1823)
1871: 46 (1825)
1881: 60 (1821)
Could anyone help either locating parents or a marriage? I have looked on Scotland's People however I cannot narrow down any of the results on there (There is no results for a marriage to a Gilbanks/Gillbanks)
