John Brame burial site
« on: Tuesday 17 November 20 20:46 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
I am looking for the burial location of John Brame (aprox 1802/1803-1 Jan 1870).  I believe he was married to an Anne Rawson in March, 1832.  I have found some baptismal records of his children but can't find his burial location/grave.  Anyone able to help me out?

There is a thread on this from 07/08 for this same individual.  I am not able to find his grave in the cemeteries listed as possibilities there.

Parents were George Brame and Rosamund Platfoot.
Thank you!!

Sorry!  I don't know how that happened.  My computer was slow and I refreshed it.

I found a lot of information on this man's children, including William Rawson Brame and John Brame (my great great great grandfather), both of whom went to New Zealand to do ministry work.  But I am not able to find anything about John the older other than that he married Anne Rawson and was a Baptist minister.  They would be my great great great greats.  I am in the USA and do not know where to begin figuring out which Baptist church he was in, other than that it was in Birmingham and he moved there about 1841 from Norfolk.

Thank you for all your help!

John Brame is buried at Key Hill Cemetery, apparently 5 Jan 1870
There is a death announcement in the Birmingham Daily Post, Monday 3 January, and a very short piece on page 4 says that "His funeral will take place on Wednesday morning, at the General Cemetery, when the Rev. C. Vince will officiate."

More details may be available online.

Wow, thank you so much!!

Is this info available publicly?  I looked on findagrave but can’t find him on there, even in that cemetery (although I trust this information).  I am relatively new to this—I also found the newspaper clipping but can’t view it without a subscription.  Anywhere this info is available without cost that I can look?

I am almost sure that would be his wife, yes.  Her name was Ann Rawson Brame.

Hi
If you register with the British Newspaper Archive you get three page views for free
https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/account/register

It is possible to get a scan of the burial register online from Birmingham City Council, but the bad news is that they charge a massive £20 :-\

I don't know much info is on those transcriptions on findmypast. You can get the newspapers on that site as well.
