Wondering if anyone can find David Walters and family on the 1851 census please? I’ve tried every spelling i can think of for Walters (Walter, Wallters, Watters) but nothing.
I have the family in Michaelston super Avan in 1861 (class RG9, piece 4082, folio 72, page 28) where David, born 1818 (43) in Carmarthen, widowed, is with his children John 13, Esther 10, Margaret 6 and David 4. I have everything on Esther (who is the person i’m researching for a friend) from then on. But i cannot find the family in 1851 to get more details on David’s wife.
Esther’s birth certificate is on order but i believe her mother was Margaret Stephens. There is a marriage of a David Walter and Margaret Stephens at Michaelston super Avan on 22 June 1844. Children Esther Walters (registered Dec quarter 1846, Neath, mother Stephens, died March quarter 1848), John Walters (June 1848, Neath, Stephens), Esther Walters (Sep 1850, Neath, Stephens). Later children were Margaret Walters (Mar 1854, Neath, Stephens) and David Walter (Jun 1856, Neath, Stephens). Possible death of Margaret, aged 40, Sept quarter 1860, Neath. No baptisms or burials found.
Given all this, i’m sure they would be in Michaelston super Avan in 1851, and even not including Margaret I can’t find David and children John and Esther. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
