I'm not sure where the Widmerpool link is, since you mention Bulwell, Pinxton and Derby. But anyway, this one might be of interest:

1683 03 11   WIDMERPOOL St Peter   Mary       parents Joseph and Ellen SHARP.

There are no other Sharp baptism in Widmerpool in that era.
Bradbury (Sedgeley, Bilston, Warrington)
Cooper (Sedgeley, Bilston)
Kilner/Kilmer (Leic, Notts)
Greenfield (Liverpool)
Holyland (Anywhere and everywhere, also Holiland Holliland Hollyland)
Pryce/Price (Welshpool, Liverpool)
Rawson (Leicester)
Upton (Desford, Leics)
Partrick (Vera and George, Leicester)
Marshall (Westmorland, Cheshire/Leicester)

Where is widmerpool mentioned in the transcript? What’s the actual wording?

Ah, had a look, I don’t think it mentions widmerpool so I’m guessing that that was your best guess in the absence of any others, is that right?

The problem with that is that Sharp is not that unusual a surname, and registers going back into the 1600s are not always legible/transcribed/extant. So unless you definitely have something to link them with Widemerpool, I’d be reluctant to accept that this is the right Mary based purely on this.
