Ancestry Message response.
« on: Wednesday 16 December 20 13:30 GMT (UK) »
Fired up Ancestry this morning and saw that I had a message in the Inbox.

I did not recognise the name of the person sending me the message.

So I looked at the message that I had originally sent them.

It took then EIGHT years to respond. 8)

So do not give up hope of getting a reply.

 ;D

I'm not sure what messaging system they use but it's getting worse with each improvement.

A bit similar to those Post Office delivered letters/postcards, one reads about. Come with a George V stamp, and a Post Mark date, the day before !

Not wishing to pry but was the response of any use?
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

No problem, their response was not of use.

They are a distant Cousin and had missed a whole generation off their line from our Common pair of Great Grandparents.
