William & Catherine Coventry - Possibly in Jersey
« on: Friday 18 December 20 17:02 GMT (UK) »
Hoping to find some information re:  My Great Aunt, Catherine Coventry nee Russell.  Information that I have is she was born in Govan, Glasgow, Scotland in 1923, and married William Coventry in Pollok, Glasgow, Scotland in 1948.  I believe they had 1 daughter Elizabeth born in 1949.  After that I have no other information other than they are believed to have relocated to Channel Islands possibly Jersey.  I am looking for any possible information, but specifically death info if possible.  I do not know where to begin to look.

A maybe

There is a burial record on the Jersey Archive site for a Russell Coventry who died on 2nd June 1953, aged 1 month. According to the funeral director's record he was the son of William Coventry.

Is it possible for someone to look up a birth record.  Trying to determine if Russell Coventry could have been child of William and Catherine.

Sadly not at the moment. In more normal times this could be done at the Registry Office but they are closed for the foreseeable future. You could contact them at SIR@gov.je and they may be able to look it up for you but they may also charge you for their time. If you do decide to make contact tell them that the entry for his birth is in the St Helier register volume 74 and is on page 64.

New information that I received was that William & Catherine Coventry were living in Guernsey in the early 1950's.  No additional information.  Looking for possible death records for either of them.  Birth year for Catherine was 1923 - Born, Catherine Russell in Govan, Scotland
