Searching for Isaac and Fanny Robinson of Liverpool
« on: Saturday 19 December 20 00:42 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find out what happened to Isaac Robinson and Fanny Robinson nee Potter, who married in Liverpool in 1868. Isaac was a painter, and his father was John Robinson, occupation joiner.

I am unable to find the couple on the 1871 census, nor any children.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you, and thanks in advance for any help!

Fanny was born in Liverpool as Fanny Potter, daughter of John Potter, mariner. Isaac was probably also born in Liverpool in 1846, and looks to be living with his parents on the 1861 census.

These all seem to be the children of a Thomas Robinson and Ellen Potter, who as far as I know are unrelated.

What year was she born and where do you see her birth?

Where is she to be seen on any census, prior to her marriage?

For reference, her marriage: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NNSQ-CTL

Think she may have died in 1869 - Frances Robinson aged 23 in June quarter 1869 Liverpool.

I note from marriage Isaac Robinson was a Printer - found him in 1871 married to an Emily and subsequent records show he married an Emily Thomas in Sept.qtr.1870 Huddersfield.   Can't see marriage online to confirm if he was a widower.  In census records he is a lithographic printer.

Annette

PS - just found Huddersfield marriage on Ancestry - he was indeed a widower.

Scotland - Spence, Horne, Cowan, Moffat

Thanks Annette, must have misread printer as painter. This seems correct.
